The medina of Chefchaouen, painted in shades of azure blue, is one of the most beautiful historic towns in Africa. At an altitude of around 600 metres, the town offers fresh mountain air and a maze of narrow alleyways, mosques, memorial sites and charming blue-and-white houses.
