Originally a series of traditional riads dating back centuries, the property was meticulously restored and transformed into a luxurious boutique hotel in the early 2000s. Each riad within La Sultana Marrakesh carries its own unique story, with some dating back to the 18th century when Marrakesh flourished as a centre of commerce and culture along the ancient caravan routes of the Sahara. These riads served as palatial residences for wealthy merchants and nobility, showcasing exquisite Moroccan architecture and design characterised by intricately carved woodwork, colourful mosaic tiles, and serene inner courtyards adorned with lush gardens and bubbling fountains.
